With Harbor Lights Resort as your home base, you’re perfectly positioned to enjoy all this incredible area has to offer. Want to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park? We’re only 35 minutes away. And how do you get there? Travel along M-22, recognized as one of the most scenic drives in America! (The best time to experience M-22 it is during fall colors). Do lighthouses brighten your day? We have picturesque Point Betsie Lighthouse just 3 miles north, which is one of the most photographed on the Great Lakes. How about wineries? We are at the base of the Leelanau Peninsula and about an hour’s drive to Traverse City and the Old Mission Peninsula, boasting some of the best wineries in the Midwest. And let’s not forget the microbreweries…this region is home to some great ones, including Frankfort’s own Stormcloud Brewing Company. Cheers!

If golf is your passion, we have several great courses within a short drive, including world-class Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club, a public beauty that will no doubt leave you feeling as though you’ve been transported to Scotland for the afternoon. (A bagpiper even plays outside the clubhouse at sunset!) And let’s not forget fishing. Frankfort boasts some of the best fishing on Lake Michigan with many charter boats ready to help you reel in a big one, or at least come up with a pretty good fish story and great memories!

If you visit in the winter, there is great downhill and cross-country skiing about 20 minutes away at Crystal Mountain Resort.
